Somatic

Psychotherapy

WHEN TALKING ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS
IS NOT ENOUGH.

Somatic psychotherapy involves integrating body-centered approaches into therapeutic work, recognizing the profound connection between bodily sensations and emotional experiences. It works with an understanding that the autonomic nervous system plays a direct role in fostering safety and promoting regulation for effective healing.

For Somatic Therapy to be effective we have to open our minds to working outside of our thinking brain.

The core focus lies in engaging in moment-to-moment self-study rather than extensive talk and verbal processing. This may seem counterintuitive yet with a Somatic therapist's guidance, five minutes carefully exploring sensations, images, or emotions can unveil profound insights surpassing hours of verbal processing. By temporarily setting aside our "thinker," we carve out space to tap into alternative faculties within our body/mind system, facilitating the reworking and digestion of a backlog of imprinted experiences we've distanced ourselves from.

When approached skillfully, these somatic processes allow the body-mind to naturally realign, culminating in healing and transformative outcomes.

The mind is like the wind, the body is like the sand. If you want to see how the wind is blowing, pay attention to the sand.
